HOT TIPS  for successful movie or gaming party.

• Don't start to early.          (1  hour before sunset works well )
• Tie everything you do to the theme of the movie or game for the night.     ( it's not "just a movie" at the end of the party )
• For the tween mixed crowd pick shorter movies and keep them fun. ( Drama loses the boys, Sci-Fi loses the girls )
• Turn off the sprinkers.( Don't forget )
• Have bug spray ready.( Just in case )
• Don't worry, be happy.

    Maybe this will get the party jucies flowing. The idea behind any succesful youth party is to keep the kids engaged during the entire party. This is how a themed movie party works so well as aposed to just "a movie" at the end of the party. I will use my dauthers party as a good example. She really wanted to do a movie party  but  what movie to play. She also liked the idea of a pool party but thats just old news. So we came up with the idea of a Hawaiian Luau (no swimming) but a couple luau games: Limbo and hula hoop contest, some Luau party decorations along with the regular cake and presents and it started out great!. Then as it was just getting dark I put on a HULA INSTRUCTION VIDEO on the BACKYARD FLIX BIG SCREEN and all the girls learned a hula dance. Just imagine 15 girls (and a few parents) on the grass in front of the big screen learning hula with there very own video instructor from Hawaii. They had great fun!!! After that they got their popcorn, candy and sodas sat down on the blankets outside under the stars and watched LILO AND STITCH  in our very own BACKYARD FLIX theater, What a way to end the night. So it wasn't just "a movie" but a great finish to a wonderful themed birthday party. My daughter LOVED IT!!!
